Papaya can be seen in every Indian home. Include this fruit in your diet! Papaya also known as Papita is a large fruit with a single stem. It is low in calories so Papaya is preferred by several people in their diet plan. Papayas are large and pear shaped with green to butter yellow skin colour when ripe. The flesh is pale orange with numerous small, black, sticky seeds at the centre. It is sometimes eaten plain and at other times with a pinch of black salt. Papayas can also be added to fruit salads or consumes as a puree with Indian breads.
